Sega has recently been beefing up its acquisitions strategy, shown in its hiring of product development VP William Petro, and already the fruits of the approach are seen in its new deal with Bizarre Creations. The developer is previously responsible for the Project Gotham Racing series, as well as Fur Fighters and Formula 1. "We are privileged to be working with Sega again," said Bizarre Creations Managing Director Martyn Chudley. "With their passion for games and forward-thinking approach, they are the ideal partner to make the most of our new concept." The collaboration between the two will be for a new franchise to be released for next-generation systems; though no target platforms have been announced, it's likely that the new games will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at a minimum. No indication of the new series' genre has also come out yet, but Sega will handle the marketing and distribution of the game in addition to contributing to the game's development. "We are actively seeking partnerships with the world's best developers to create brand new franchises and re-create new games from existing Sega IP," said Sega America CEO Naoya Tsurumi. "We could not be happier that Bizarre Creations, a world-leader in successfully combining gameplay and technology, chose Sega as their publishing partner to create a multi-platform blockbuster for the next-generation."
